There are a variety of ways of teaching numbers. In this BLOG, I will share activities that you could use to teach the numbers 1 - 10 to little children.

All about Counting!

According to Gelman and Gallistel (1978), the Counting Principles are as follows:

* Stable Order:

Number names must be recited in a fixed order.

*One-to-One Correspondence:

Each object to be counted must be assigned to one number name.

* Cardinality:

The last number reached in a count represents the cardinal value of the enumerated set.

Activities for Children:

Children can count their body parts (such as: 10 fingers, 2 hands, 2 ears, etc.).

Children learn the numbers 1 – 10 through singing nursery rhymes.
